This is the book cited in Thirteen against the Bank by Norman Leigh as the source of the reversing idea. For a long time I considered this to be a creation of Leigh due to the lack of any information about this book on the internet. I assumed that if it really existed someone would have found it and discussed it somewhere.
However I was wrong. On a whim I decided to search the British Library catalogue and was lucky enough to find the book. The details Leigh gives in Thirteen against the Bank are not quite correct, the real record is as follows:
BERESFORD, Seton Robert de la Poer Horsley, Hon.
The Future at Monte Carlo. A successful method explained, disclosing the only system that can beat the bank.
London, [1923.]
There is another book by the same author which also appears to be about Monte Carlo and roulette, although this title was published in Nice – where the majority of the action in Thirteen against the Bank takes place!
BERESFORD, Seton Robert de la Poer Horsley, Hon.
Beresford’s Monte-Carlo. Historical, anecdotal, analytical, informative.
Nice, [1926.]
I intend to investigate these items personally in the near future, look out for updates.
